چکیده

Background & Aims of the Study: Anaerobic baffled reactor (ABR) is one low-cost wastewater treatment systems; however, it has some limitations, such as insufficient standard nutrient outflow. Accordingly, should be studied and developed. This research aims to determine efficiency a five-sectional pilot upgrade with an integrated aerated media filter in (integrated reactor) for municipal treatment. Materials Methods: study was performed on laboratory scale field conditions Khoy City plant. The ABR operated 270 days hydraulic retention time (HRT) 48, 36, 24, 18 hours, respectively. Integrated anaerobic (IABR) 35 24 hours HRT, i.e., aeration 5 hours. reactors were fed line from inflowing A 24-hour combined sampling 224 times inflow outflow system, volatile suspended solids, total kjeldahl nitrogen (TKN), phosphorus (TP), biochemical oxygen demand (BOD), chemical (COD), Total Suspended Solids (TSS) parameters measured compared effluent disposal standard. Results: launch lasted 105 days, its helpful operation 200 days. In 48 removed 79% 91% COD, 9% 20% TKN, 19% 30% phosphorus, 89% 94% TSS. IABR reached terms TSS, BOD, under increased COD removal by 6% HRT same conditions. Conclusion: By integrating final aerobic while reducing required 50%, achieving standards ABR. Therefore, this system can used treat wastewater.

Hybrid anaerobic baffled reactor for treatment of desizing wastewater

Polyvinyl alcohol-containing desizing wastewater discharged within final textile wastewater has a great impact to the environment due to its poor biodegradability. An improved lab-scale hybrid anaerobic baffled reactor was developed to treat desizing wastewater. The modification was achieved by increasing the height of hybrid anaerobic baffled reactor and application of proper effluent recycle ...

Performance of electrical stimulated anaerobic baffled reactor for removal of typical pollutants from low-strength municipal wastewater at low temperatures

Background: Although anaerobic system has been successfully used for treating the strong industrial wastewater, its efficiency for low-strength wastewater as municipal wastewater is not satisfying. This study aimed to enhance the capability of an anaerobic baffled reactor (ABR) for treating municipal wastewater. Methods: A 7-L ABR with 5 compartments was operated for a 287-day period fed with ...

Treatment of Low-strength Industrial Wastewater Using Anaerobic Baffled Reactor

The performance of an anaerobic baffled reactor at the pilot scale, with a 100-L volume and six compartments, that is used to treat low-strength industrial wastewater (671.5±49.9 mg COD/L, 350.1±36.8 mg BOD5/L and 443.8±60.7 mg SO4 -2/L) was studied. The reactor was started with a hydraulic retention time (HRT) of 25 h at 35 oC, which was gradually reduced to 3.33 h. The best reactor performanc...

Slaughterhouse wastewater treatment by combined anaerobic baffled reactor and anaerobic filter: study of OLR and HRT optimization in ABR/AF reactors

Background: Slaughterhouse wastewater (SWW) is hardly treated due to the large amount of organic matter, nutrients and suspended solids. These materials are naturally decomposed through biological processes, and then environmental pollution, transmission of pathogens and problems become smelled. Conventional purification methods require high investment costs, high energy consumption and expert ...
